The Futura shapes are carried-over from 2017 with their shorter, wider outlines, thinner profiles, new tail shapes and new Vee distribution.
They are offered in two technologies: our new Carbon L.C.F. construction designed for the lowest weight but also the lowest carbon footprint and our Carbon Reflex construction, our very lightest technology that uses the most exclusive, lightest biaxial grade carbon fibres for an even lighter weight on the scales.

At 86 kg of CO2 emissions for a 117 liter board, Carbon L.C.F. is our most environmentally-friendly board yet, using bio resin and our exclusive end-grain Balsa sandwich core.
Our bio-resin has half the carbon emissions footprint of conventional epoxy resin and end-grain Balsa has a tenth of the footprint of conventional PVC sandwich cores.
Boards built using the Carbon L.C.F. technology use Smart Carbon vectors: putting the carbon smartly in the right places for an optimized combination of stiffness, flex and feel and ultimately allowing us to use less of it.
We've also removed all plastic from our packaging: bubble-wrap, plastic dust bags and EPS blocks have been replaced with honeycomb and corrugated cardboard to further reduce the carbon footprint of a Starboard.

For a 117 litre board, the carbon footprint is 86 kg/CO2. At this stage, Carbon L.C.F. is our board technology that has the lowest footprint per litre. (For reference, a laptop computer has 295 kg/CO2 footprint).
