About this Collection 19mm Aluminium Mast

Designed for our entire foil line, the AXIS masts are stiff, strong, and ready for any use and conditions. We designed our masts for 2021 to give our foilers a very direct feeling to their foil which is critical for foiling. We even sourced our own high quality aluminium and bought tons of it, to ensure we only have the highest quality raw materials for our foils.

Our 19mm Aluminium Mast section was developed after countless hours of computer analysis, and resulted in a 2.24 times stiffness improvement over most other brands 15mm masts, and is even stiffer than most carbon masts available today. This provides a very direct and predictable feel, especially through manoeuvres, making it the best choice for beginner to intermediate riders.

Many expert riders choose to stay with our 19mm Aluminium, preferring its superior stiffness and predictable feel, especially when used with larger front wings (1050 or larger). Their affordability also allows riders to carry a couple of mast lengths for different foiling disciplines, ocean conditions or locations, or upgrade to a longer mast once you’ve mastered the basics. With the modular nature of our system, it’s a quick and easy changeout.

We also offer a 16mm mast option for lighter riders, or prone and kite foilers using smaller wings. The 16mm mast is 1.67 times stiffer than most 15mm masts on the market.

Our Aluminium Masts work in conjunction with the AXIS base plate, for connection to the board, and our ‘Doodad’ for connection to the fuselage. Often overlooked, the Doodad is our secret weapon that provides industry leading rigidity between mast, fuselage and foil. Compared with other brands you’ll feel the difference immediately! Both the Black and Red fuselages can be fitted to all our aluminium masts.

Length 1050mm (41.3in) usage Big swell downwinders, more aggressive riding and speed kite foiling.
Length 900mm (35.4) usage Big wave and toe-ins, downwinder pros in open ocean, standard for wing surf, wind foil and kite foil.
Length 820mm (32.3in) usage Bigger surf, downwinders, adv. riding with all foils.
Length 750mm (29.5in) usage Wing surf or ‘surfy’ option for kite foiling.
Length 680mm (26.8in) usage Prone surf foiling and all round SUP. Shallow wing foil.
Length 600mm (23.6in) usage Good starting point for all diciplines, shallow areas.
Length 450mm (17.7in) usage Ideal for your first flights.

19mm Aluminium 1050mm Foil Mast
The 1050mm mast is mostly used for big swell downwinders, or for more aggressive riding and speed with Kite Foiling.

19mm Aluminium 900mm Foil Mast
The 900mm mast is the choice of big wave enthusiasts and tow-ins, when combined with the 680mm front wing. It’s also the choice of downwinder pros when competing in open ocean swell. The AXIS 900mm mast is the main size mast for wind foilers and kite foilers, when they reach they are are not beginners any longer.

19mm Aluminium 820mm Foil Mast
The 820mm is certainly the right length for you.
Perfect for higher performance riding on Surf, tow-in, Wake, Pump, SUP, Wing or Kite.

19mm Aluminium 750mm Foil Mast
The 750mm mast is mostly used on bigger surf, downwinders and more advanced riding or as a surfy option for kite foiling.

19mm Aluminium 680mm Foil Mast
The 680mm is the most common foil mast length for prone surf foiling and all round SUP. If there is one size mast for SUP, prone surf, or wake foiling, the 680mm mast will be your choice.

19mm Aluminium 600mm Foil Mast
The 600mm mast is the most common mast that you will start putting hours on. You will ride it for a while before you move up to a taller mast, when you SUP, Surf, Downwind, Wake or Kite. Some riders might never need a taller mast, depending on their style, local conditions or discipline or riding.

19mm Aluminium 450mm Foil Mast
The 450mm foil mast is ideal for your first flights, while you are learning how to start to foil. Most riders spend only a few hours or less on the shortest foil mast we make (450mm) before they graduate to the longer foil masts.
